JV North welcomes early launch of the new Social and Affordable Homes Programme prospectus

JV North has welcomed the earlier than anticipated launch of the Social and Affordable Homes Programme (SAHP) prospectus.

Government issued its guidance for the £39 billion, 10-year programme today (7 November).

It outlines the type of schemes, tenures funding and designs bidding organisations like JV North will need to meet in order to access grant funding in the new programme.

JV North Chair, John Bowker, said: “Receiving the prospectus earlier than anticipated is warmly welcomed and sends a strong message of intent to the sector from government.

“Similarly, it is really positive that bidding for the new programme that is expected to open in February.

“The finer details of the £39bn SAHP can now be reviewed and we can start working up development programmes with JV North members able to advance our preparations that include a new £500 million contractor and consultant framework created to deliver in volume and at speed and we welcome new members looking to join to take advantage of this.”

To date, JV North has built over 10,000 affordable homes under different government programmes, investing over £1 billion and providing homes for more than 30,000 people.

JV North members are Cobalt Housing, Cheshire Peaks & Plains Housing Trust, First Choice Homes Oldham, L&Q Housing Trust, Muir Group Housing Association, One Manchester, Plus Dane Housing, South Liverpool Homes, Southway Housing Trust, Stockport Homes Group, Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, The Sovini Group, Torus, Weaver Vale Housing Trust and Wythenshawe Community Housing Group.
