JV North is already on-site with £95 million of Social and Affordable Homes Programme (SAHP) grant to build nearly 800 homes.
The consortium’s allocation is a result of going into the new funding contract with Homes England in record time.
JV North’s first grant payments from the SAHP will help members build 792 homes of which 660 will be made available for social rent which equates to 83 per cent.
The remaining homes will see 50 offered at affordable rent, 24 as shared ownership homes and 58 rent to buy.
The properties – including houses, apartments and extra care – are being built on 14 different sites across JV North’s key operating areas of Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire.
When the grant of £95 million is coupled with members’ own funding, it takes the overall construction value to in excess of £300 million.
JV North Chair, John Bowker, said: “Signing the SAHP contract agreement in record time is fantastic news and reward for the hard work of our members and Homes England to finalise the legal details so quickly.
“And on the back of this, we are straight out of the blocks with a large continuous market engagement allocation of £95 million to build nearly 800 homes, the overwhelming majority being for social rent.
“This allocation and delivery profile sees us return to delivering three new homes every working day which the consortium achieved for a whole decade between 2010 and 2020.
“This is really inspiring news for people living in our communities because we are building the type of properties with the tenures that are most needed to meet demand.

In the past year JV North has welcomed Warrington Housing Association and First Choice Homes Oldham as full members along with Regenda Group, Irwell Valley Homes and Your Housing Group as procurement members which allows them to access the consortium’s £500 million contractor and consultant framework.
“This is the first allocation JV North has received in the SAHP and we know from our growing membership there is a huge appetite to build more,” adds Mr Bowker.
