Torus Developments is the North West’s biggest developer of affordable homes and one of the region’s fastest-growing investors.

As part of the Torus Group, Torus Developments make a difference by not only building great homes, but creating strong, resilient communities by investing its commercial profits into the invaluable work delivered by the Torus Foundation.

Developments

Determined to build on its successful track record, Torus Developments’ large-scale signature schemes are helping to tackle the regional shortage of affordable, high-quality homes, which meet the diverse needs of our communities.

Each year Torus Developments aims to build more than 1,000 high-quality homes and plans to create 5,600 new homes by 2026 – a development programme worth £1bn.

From building homes for those with additional care needs, creating affordable family homes, to supporting first time buyers onto the property ladder, Torus Developments is working to transform places, inspire growth and help create a sustainable future for those living and working across the North West.

Going green

As a large-scale developer, one of Torus Developments’ most significant investments in becoming a net zero developer is using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and incorporating more innovative construction techniques into its development programme, as standard. Entering the new Homes England Strategic Partnership 2022-2026 programme and committing to delivering 700 homes using MMC in the next six years – equal to 26% of its programme – Torus Developments has already completed multiple MMC housing schemes such as Pennine Close in St Helens, Oakdale Road in Wallasey and Palladian Gardens in Cheshire West.

Finally, working with multiple MMC suppliers including Starship Group and OSCO Homes and being a primary sponsor of the Liverpool City Region MMC National Centre of Excellence, Torus Developments is only at the beginning of its MMC journey and will continue to invest in new ways to build the high-quality homes using leading sustainable technologies.

More than homes

As part of the Torus Group, building great homes and strong communities is central to Torus Developments’ business model. Investing commercial profits into creating sustainable, inclusive and resilient communities, regenerating neighbourhoods and designing places that promote health, wellbeing and opportunity is at the heart of every Torus development.

Going above and beyond its statutory responsibilities to deliver sustainable, long-lasting, positive change Torus Developments engages with communities, local authorities and key partners to ensure all schemes delivered are community-focused. This has seen us actively address and meet identified local needs, invest heavily in the local supply chain and creation of jobs as well as taking a lead on genuine placemaking across the North West.
