Member Focus

The Sovini Group has a unique end-to-end offer across the property and construction supply chain, with quality services delivered to the public, not-for-profit and private sectors.

Growing commercial activities across the construction industry complement and support the Group’s non-profit organisations, with profits reinvested to build new homes, improve services and support local communities.

With a commitment to creating opportunities and changing lives for its residents through thriving, inclusive communities, the Group presently owns, manages, and maintains in excess of 13,600 homes across North West.

Employing over 850 staff, The Sovini Group is a key contributor to the social and economic development of the region and was named the UK’s Number 1 Best Workplace in 2021 for the third time.

Developments

A recent report by the Centre for Social Justice found that over 40% of population in the North West felt that housing costs in their area were ‘too high’, with 77% agreeing that social housing was an essential resource for vulnerable people.

Seeking to create thriving and inclusive communities through its development framework, The Sovini Group aims to combat high housing costs, through the delivery of good quality, affordable homes – with aims to deliver over 1,000 new homes within the next five years.

In addition to affordable rent tenures through One Vision Housing and Pine Court Housing Association, over 50% of homes across eight new property developments will be offered through Rent to Buy and Shared Ownership schemes.

Managing Director of Housing, Ian Mitchell said: “Thanks to the investment we have made into our communities and colleagues, we are able to deliver extensive development frameworks.

“We are driven by our purpose to create opportunities and change lives, and these new schemes will enable hundreds of people take their first step onto the property ladder whilst providing hundreds more with affordable quality rental properties.

“Our customers remain centric to all that we do at The Sovini Group. We look forward to welcoming tenants into their new homes and seeing them thrive within our communities for years to come.”

Going green

The Sovini Group is committed to reducing its environmental impact and striving towards net zero carbon emissions.

In line with The Future Buildings Standard (2021), developments commissioned by the Group and delivered by Sovini Construction will take a ‘fabric first’ approach.

With a planned investment of over £22.5 million between 2021 and 2026, this approach involves maximising performance of components and materials selected during construction, aiming to reduce energy consumption through thermal efficiency and running costs.

New build homes developed by the Group will also feature environmentally efficient specifications where possible – from low carbon heating and sustainable drainage systems to smart meters, solar panels and charging points for electric vehicles.

More than homes

The Sovini Group is committed to creating lasting legacies in the communities it serves, from creating employment opportunities to delivering extensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

In 2020/21, the Group generated over £15.5 million in social value through initiatives designed to support vulnerable residents across the Liverpool City Region and beyond.

A further £3 million was also generated over the Christmas period last year, thanks to the award-winning Group’s Stakeholder Engagement Team who partnered with local organisations to reach 1,495 beneficiaries across Liverpool, Sefton and Wirral.
